Education/Formal Training: Current Registered Nurse Licensure in North Carolina required. ACL certification required. BLS instructor certification preferred.
Work Experience: Three years experience as a Registered Nurse in a critical care setting preferred.
Aptitudes: Knowledge of the procedures, materials, and equipment that apply to the nursing process. Ability to interpret, recognize, and analyze difficulties within the position. Exhibits knowledge and basic understanding regarding the age specific needs of neonatal, adolescent, pediatric and geriatric patients and the cultural needs of all patients.
Function: The Registered Nurse in the Department of Radiology has a dynamic and varied role. Provides quality nursing care to the patient in the department utilizing the nursing process. The nurse will assess, implement appropriate interventions, document and evaluate outcomes. Administers and prescribes medications as ordered per physicians. Notifies physicians immediately of critical changes or abnormal lab values. Provides in-service programs, (i.e. Bels, IV therapy, etc). Orders supplies/medications.
